Deflection Control and Water Ponding Dynamics in Low-Slope Structural Glass Canopies

When designing long-span glass canopies under high wind suction and dead load, calculating glass pane deflection independently from the supporting steel structure is a frequent cause of on-site failure. Using data from the ARC-STR-01 engineering case, this paper analyzes the interaction between 32-meter steel tube trusses and 10+10mm laminated safety glass with SentryGlas interlayers.

Core Finding: Even with a nominal 2.5% slope, elastic deflection under maximum live load can reduce local panel inclination to zero, triggering progressive water ponding. Finite element joint modeling must verify deflection limits at L/300 under combined SLS loads.

The Architecture of Monochrome: Why 300 Plates Forego Color to Unveil Archetypal Memory

In architecture, the section cut reveals what facades conceal. In the MONO300 fine art corpus, stripping chromatic pigment serves the same forensic role. By relying purely on black ink against stark white ground, cultural figures across classical antiquity and indigenous mythos shed their regional particularities and emerge as structural universalities.
