The tower envelope in ARC-ENV-02 represents a synthesis of high-performance curtain wall modules and rear-ventilated aluminum cassette cladding. At high altitudes, dynamic wind loads and severe climatic gradients impose extreme demands on perimeter integrity. The cassette substructure utilizes heavy-gauge extruded aluminum brackets designed to absorb thermal expansion cycles without inducing secondary stresses into the building’s structural concrete framework.
2. Unitized Curtain Wall Glazing & Exterior Steel Fin Brackets [ARC-ENV-02_02]
The exterior diagonal steel fin framework anchored to the façade units provides crucial solar shading while maintaining unobstructed panoramic views. The critical engineering challenge resolved in this interface is the direct connection of heavy exterior structural steel to the aluminum mullions. By incorporating high-density polyamide thermal isolation pads and stainless steel sleeve connectors, galvanic corrosion is completely prevented while maintaining structural deflection tolerances under peak wind gusts.
3. Hand-Drafted Detail Engineering & Rainscreen Cross-Section [ARC-DET-03_SK13]
In an era dominated by automated parametric drafting, the authentic hand-drawn technical detail remains the ultimate benchmark of architectural craftsmanship and engineering foresight. As drafted by Mim. G. Varol, section ARC-DET-03_SK13 delineates:
- Thermal Envelope Continuity: Unbroken alignment of polyamide thermal breaks between the double-glazed insulated unit (IGU) and the ventilated cassette perimeter.
- Moisture Management & Pressure Equalization: Dedicated drainage channels, weep paths, and EPDM gasket sealing that prevent capillary moisture intrusion even during extreme negative pressure differentials.
- Anchorage & Dead-Load Distribution: Precision alignment of 60×60 structural angle brackets tied into the primary slab edge, allowing 3D slotted adjustability during installation.
